Sonajuri Arts was born with the aim to basically uplift the artisans and their families especially the primary health and education of their children. The vision of Mrs (Dr) Sangeeta Roy, MA, BEd, Ph.D., wife of Col (Dr) Shantonu Roy, M. Tech, MBA, MA (Def Studies), Ph.D. is to create a larger canvas than what exists today, for all the beautiful and unparalleled creativity that the simple artisans of India have been quietly perfecting for centuries. We hope to be able to raise the dignity of the Indian artisan in our own small way.
It is our effort to offer an undeniably unique selection of traditional art and craft translated into a range of attractive contemporary products while ensuring a fair price for every single artisan whose creations have been featured on this portal while bringing it closer to people across the world.
We endeavor to support our artisans not just by promoting what they make, but also by helping them with ideas and designs to innovate and create relevant designed products that appeal to changing tastes and modern preferences, to help them find wider markets.
Sonajuri Arts is linked to an NGO – “Uma Dream Foundation” which relentlessly works for the upliftment of today’s children to become future, creative and progressive citizens of tomorrow.
We contribute to the preservation and promotion of Indian arts & crafts and consequently with it, all the skills and talent of a large group of artisans that is an integral part of this amazing country. We actively undertake the design and development of customized craft orders, working closely in tandem with customers to understand, design, and develop exclusive and classic craft-based solutions. Sonajuri Arts essentially seek to contribute to preserving and promoting the unparalleled artistic and cultural legacy inherited by every citizen of this amazing land.
