DHOKRA ART:
Dhokra is a beautiful, ancient craft and amongst the oldest traditional techniques of metal casting in India, practiced for over 4,000 years. The lost wax technique, cire perdue is the medium of metalworkers in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and West Bengal. This craft dates back to pre-historic times of the Harappa and Mohenjodaro Civilizations. Dhokra/ Bell metal is an alloy of brass, nickel and zinc that gives an antique effect to the castings. Over the years, we have cultivated direct relationships with a wide network of artisans and craft centric enterprises across the country. Our primary mission is to empower the Indian artisan and do our bit in contributing to the sustenance of artisan livelihoods as also the preservation of an amazing craft heritage.
